Neal Scherzinger, President and founder, of Alliant Financial Services, Inc. started the company because he, like many of his clients, wanted the independence of entrepreneurialship. In the last seven years, Alliant has grown to over 300 commercial clients. Even in these challenging times in the health insurance market, Alliant’s client retention rate is over 98%. Alliant is able to select from over 250 insurance companies to implement the strongest overall benefits plans for its clients. Neal is a graduate of the University of Kansas. He enjoys watching college sports and spending time with his family.

Korey Kauffman, Benefits Broker, Korey is a native of Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Jackson County with a passion for soccer which took him onto JCCC with a soccer scholarship. He has over 11 years experience in the insurance industry from one of the top insurance leaders, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. Korey was a consecutive leader in individual health products sales and group administration.

Becky Atencio, Account Manager/Renewals/Marketing, Becky grew up in eastern Jackson County. She attended Central Missouri State University for Art Education with an emphasis in Art History. She was an active member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and other various activities throughout the university.  Before joining Alliant Financial , Becky was with Assurant Employee Benefits Insurance Company for 5 years. She started as a Client Service Specialist, soon transitioning her way into the Technology Administration Project Team where she played a major role in the growth of online technology and marketing tools for the company.  She prides herself with expertise of the insurance industry, superior service skills, creativity, and keeping up with today’s trends in the benefits marketplace. She is involved in the community and is a member of several organizations, such as Junior League of Kansas City, The Business Exchange, The Marty Connection, Bacchus, Volunteer at Camp Determination- Camp for Autistic/Asperger children, and MDA to name a few.

Margot Doyle, New Business Development Margot is the newest addition to Alliant. She originally hails from Boston, MA and has worked in the insurance industry in both Massachusetts and Kansas. She is a graduate of Framingham State College, MA. In addition to a long career as VP of Commercial Lending, she has honored her skills as a creative and sincere business development specialist in several industries.

Mitchell T. Bales, Benefits Broker, Mitch is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma.  He attended the University of Kansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with an emphasis in Finance. He was actively involved as a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity of the Gammu Mu Chapter while on campus.  In his last semester at KU, Mitch took an internship with ESPN Regional in Lawrence, KS where his efforts were in sales, marketing & advertising for KU Athletics.  Once graduated, he took a position w/ Northwestern Mutual Financial Network where he built a financial planning clientele throughout the Kansas City area.  Mitch achieved the Bronze Award in his 1st year which is awarded to the Top 150 1st year agents in the country out of a few thousand reps.  Mitch then pursued a Sales Rep position with Assurant Employee Benefits here locally.  He was responsible for Group Insurance Sales in the KS, MO, OK & AR markets.  He created & maintained relations with the brokerage community in his territory & met sales quotas for Assurant while there.  Mitch eventually moved over to the broker side where he had his sights set all along.  He transitioned over to Alliant Financial services in August of 2003 & has established more than 100 Group clients for their Group Benefits needs'.  His goals are to help grow the agency as well as maintaining his valued client base.  Mitch enjoys watching college sports (KU & OU),traveling, golf, family & friends. He is an active member of a local BNI Networking chapter as well as The Marty Connection. Mitch has lived in the Kansas City area for the last 10 years. 

Mark Morely, Human Resources Mark has more than 19 years of progressively responsible human resources experience, with expertise in recruitment & staffing, training, employee assessment, benefits, employee relations, and legal compliance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources (SPHR). He has taught classes as an adjunct instructor at the Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies as well as for Mid-America Nazarene University’s Innovative Adult Education Program.

Mary Brenner, Broker/Account Manager/Renewals, Mary Brenner has been part of the Alliant family for over 6 years. A University of Kansas graduate, she worked with special needs populations including EMR and at-risk youth. Her career path has been education and service oriented and has included both start-up and established companies. Alliant affords the opportunity to expand her commitment to be of service and her tenacity and love of a challenge make her ideally suited to provide the level of excellent service our clients have come to expect. She and husband, musician Phil Brenner, have a daughter. Volunteering for school, scouts, band and sports activities leaves some time for family outings, reading and theater.
